Using Local Newspapers Online
Waterford Co. Library hosts a digital newspaper archive of c.140,000 local newspaper pages. For easy access, select the year required from the page listing for each newspaper 
and browse the files which are presented chronologically. Included in the database are pages from the:
- Dungarvan Leader
- Waterford Chronicle
- Waterford Mirror
- Waterford Mail
- News and Star
- Munster Express
Each page is held as a .tiff image and can be downloaded onto the users desktop where it can be viewed using any one of a large number of image viewers including Adobe Acrobat.
Digital Editions Project. Dungarvan Leader Online
Commecncing May 2011, we are publishing easy to access historical editions of the Dungarvan Leader Online. Up to this point, only images of individual newspaper pages have been made available to users - explained above - inhibiting research and use of a very valuable resource. Completion of this phase of the Digital Editions Project in 2011 will ensure that:
- Digital copies can be retrieved by year, month and week of publication.
- Weekly editions can be downloaded as .pdf files.
- Incomplete or missing sequences can be identified for digitisation and later re-integration, thereby providing comprehensive collection access.
From late April and during May, the following files will be made available:

The Ask About Ireland Irish Times Digital Archive provides online access to The Irish Times from the first edition in 1859 to 
the present, and is fully indexed and searchable.
This service is free of charge for internet users within public libraries. Use the link provided from any public access terminal in the Branch Library network to access the archive.
