Using eJournals for Research

Local journals constitute an invaluable record of Waterford history, culture and society. Recognising this, the Library Service has developed a strategy to digitise, organise and provide enhanced access to primary journals of Waterford interest. Features of eJournals include:

• Fully bookmarked PDF volumes.
• Full volume searchability.
• Indexing of all contributors and articles.
• Accessible through Library Catalogue and Library Website.

Journal of the Waterford and South-East of Ireland Archaeological Society

Fully bookmarked volumes of the Journal of the Waterford and South-East of Ireland Archaeological Society, published between 1895 and 1915 are available online. You can access these journals in a number of ways:

• Browse Library Catalogue records to view contents listing for each volume and follow indicated link to download file.
• Search Contents index of search menu in catalogue to locate a specific author, subject or article contained in a volume

JSTOR Ireland Collection

Library users now have access to a comprehensive collection of Irish scholarly journals online. We have recently collaborated with the JSTOR digital archive to make available the Ireland Collection. This comprises more that 90 journals, many of which contain articles of Waterford interest covering many disciplines, and this service is available at your local branch. Connect to JSTOR.
