Using Resources

Many of the primary resources listed, including Griffith's Valuation, Death Registers, Trade Directories and Grave Memorials are in database form and searchable online. Others, including the 1901 and 1911 Census and Tithe Applotment Books are held on microfilm at Dungravan Library. Library Staff are available to assist in providing access to the key listed resources used in genealogical research, but cannot carry out the research for you.

There are three pieces of information that are vital to locating any information about your family:

The name of the family
The townland in which they lived
The approximate date that they lived there

Waterford County Archive Service has a number of pages that are of interest in outlining initial steps to conducting family history or genealogical research in Waterford.
