Schools Service

Launch of Library Delivery Van at Rathgormack N.S., 2006

Primary Schools

The service, up to Spring 2009,  provided a comprehensive lending and advisory service to primary schools in County Waterford. These included resources for curricular support, classroom stock deliveries and provision of learning support materials. We also provided advice and support in the establishment and management of library spaces and collection development within schools. At present there are 56 schools with a pupil enrolment of 6,400.

Bookstock, previously grant-aided by the Department of Education and Science, is no longer available and the service components are currently being assessed.Additional resources have been provided by Waterford Co. Council in 2009 in order to ensure the provision of the curricular support element of the service.
