  The Bisto Book of the Year Awards, in partnership with CBI, are the leading annual Children's Book Awards in Ireland
• Carnegie Medal
  Awarded by children's librarians in the UK for an outstanding book for children and young people
• Kate Greenaway Medal
  Awarded by children's librarians in the UK for an outstanding book in terms of illustration for children and young people
• Newbery Medal
  Awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.
• Caldecott Medal
  Awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children
• Red House Book Awards
  Only UK book award voted for entirely by children
• Irish Book Awards
  DAA Junior and Senior Children's fiction categories
• British Book Awards
  Contains the WH Smith Children's book of the year award
• Costa Book Awards
  Includes a category for best children's book
• Guardian Children's Fiction prize
  The only children's book award judged by children's authors, it has been running since 1967. Previous winners include Meg Rosoff, Ted Hughes and Jacqueline Wilson
